Google Upgrades to Shared Storage between Drive, Gmail & Google+

Saving things to the cloud just got a whole lot easier- and bigger. Google has just announced that they are unifying the storage spaces of Drive, Gmail and Google Plus. Before, you received 10 GB of free storage for your Gmail account and 5 GB for your Drive account and your images on Google+. Now you will have 15GB shared and available across all 3 apps.

This is good news for those of us who don’t receive most of their mail through Gmail and who want greater Drive storage, without paying a monthly fee. You can still upgrade your storage capabilities to 100 GB for only $4.99 a month. There will be updates to the back end as well. Eventually, you will also be able to see a breakdown of how you are using your storage in pie chart form.
