Facebook Call To Action | Blueprint

On December 11, Facebook announced the new feature of adding Call To Action buttons for business pages.

What that means for humanity online is a lot more user engagement that will lead to more business. At least for those businesses that choose to harness the power of the CTA.

What Is a Call To Action?

A call to action (CTA) is a wording or graphic prompt that encourages you to click a link, button or picture.

It usually takes you to a contact form, sign-up screen or a ‘shop now’ webpage. A call to action is very important for web marketing, because it guides the user on what to do next. Without a CTA, people are much less likely to act in the manner you prefer.

Which is why if someone can’t figure out how to shop, call or contact you, he’ll most likely leave your site having taken no action. That’s never good if your site was meant for more than inaction.

Call to action buttons are usually designed to stand out, so they’re made with gradients, shadows and colors.

Ironically, we are becoming so used to encountering call to action indicators that we’re becoming immune. Most websites will have around 3 or 4 on each page, and we don’t even realize it!

Facebook CTA

Having a Facebook page for your business is very important.

Most users look up companies and brands on Facebook before looking for a website or a form of social media.

According to Jeff Bullas, 30 billion businesses have Facebook pages and they spend $2.66 billion dollars on advertising each year. What if you could have your users subscribe, shop or contact you with a click of one button?

On December 11, Facebook announced the new feature of Call To Actions for business pages. The seven calls to action available are:

* Book Now

* Contact Us

* Use App

* Play Game

* Shop Now

* Sign Up

* Watch Video

This feature may get controversial because it is limited to only 7 buttons. But with Facebook constantly updating and making changes, we will probably see updates to the CTA button within the future.

Maybe Facebook will even have an update in the future that will allow you to add your own text for the button!

According to Brian Kim of the Dollar Shave Club: “Over the course of a three-week test, the sign up call-to-action button delivered a 2.5x higher conversion rate versus other comparable social placements aimed to drive new user acquisition”

The feature will be available to business pages within the next week, and worldwide by next year.

Do you think the new Facebook CTA button will help business increase traffic to their websites?

Why is a CTA Important?

Your website can have great content, design and features, but if there is no clear call to action, you can lose the user’s interest. Your visitors will need to know what to do.

If you have a “subscribe to our newsletter” link, or “click here to save 25%” button, the visitor is more inclined to click. Being straight forward with your CTA will help your site, and increase conversion rates!

How to Build a B2B Lead Nurturing Program That Closes Deals

Most B2B marketing teams are better at generating leads than keeping them warm. A form gets filled out, the lead lands in the CRM, and nothing happens until a salesperson gets around to it, by which point the buyer has moved on or gone quiet. In a market where the average deal takes months of[...]

How We Took the Grind Out of Link Building Prospecting

Most link building programs stall at the same point, the prospecting spreadsheet.
