Writing Blog Posts: Part III

Writing Blog Posts: Part III

Our office, here at Blueprint, has been steadily blogging for almost a year now! I have shared writing tips for blog posts before, like in Writing Blog Posts: Part II. In honor of all our past and future posts, I am sharing some new ideas, tips, and techniques for writing.

DO SOME RESEARCH

Researching is more for those curious thinkers. Have you ever wanted to learn more about something you know absolutely nothing about? Take some time to research a topic and write a blog post on what you found.

PICK A TOPIC

Think about widely discussed topics. There are several topics to touch on when trying to decide what to write. Whether you are writing about a general topic, or choose to discuss a specific topic, there are always new topics to choose from.

CATEGORIES

We have specific categories we can write blog posts about. Not to put a limit on the topics we write about, but these are the existing departments we have here at Blueprint. We focus on many things and there are existing category options to categorize your blog posts from a general category to news, bios, industry news, just for fun, pay per click, search engine optimization, social media, video production, web design, web development, and writing.

BE SUPPORTIVE

Offer tips or tricks to help your audience. Make your own step-by-step tutorial.

KEEP IT CURRENT

Give your audience enough information to want to learn more. Maybe your post will have many parts, so they will be reading your next few posts as well.

MARKET & BRAND

It is also good to write about other things like marketing or brand awareness. The importance of these two things for a business can never be stressed enough.

SHARE

Maybe you try to share some challenges you faced and how you overcame them. Maybe you share how you collaborated on a project or how our office works as a team.

Sharing our knowledge is just one tiny thing we can touch on when writing blog posts. As you can see, there are many different ways to write. There is not one correct way or style when you write. When writing blog posts, take these questions into consideration. What do I want to write about? How do I want to write about it? You can also, use more than one of these techniques together. If you do use more than one, make sure that your post is still simple enough to understand.
