Facebook Page Performance: Part II

If you want to know what data you are looking at with Page Insights on your Facebook Page, this is an extensive, in-depth overview.

Overview

The easiest way to check the performance is to look at the overview. This shows data for a recent 1-week period. It shows the following data:

  • Page Likes | Post Reach | Engagement

Your 5 most recent posts

Likes
  • TOTAL PAGE LIKES

You can see your present total page likes.  Also, it shows you a Benchmark to compare your average performance over time with your total page likes.

  • NET LIKES

Shows you your net likes: what changed.  This includes a benchmark of likes – unlikes to give you the total net likes.  It categorizes them into: unlikes, organic likes, paid likes, and net likes.  You have an option to create an ad to get more people to like your page with a button shown as boost page.

With boost likes, it gives you the option to get more page likes by creating an ad.  In this option, you will see a sample ad.  You can change the audience and select cities, states/providences, or countries.  You can enter 4-10 interests, traits, or things that your audience shares.  You may select an age group and also gender.  Then you may select your daily budget.  Depending on your budget it will give you an estimated range of likes you will receive per day.  You will spend your budget every day until you stop your ad.

  • WHERE YOUR PAGE LIKES CAME FROM

This shows the number of times your page was liked, broken down by where it happened.  It compares page suggestions, on your page, or mobile.

Reach
  • DAILY DATA

This is an overview of 1M 1W 1Q with date range (you can change selection).

  • POST REACH

This is the number of people who saw your posts.  Shows a benchmark of organic and paid results over time.

  • LIKES, COMMENTS, AND SHARES

These actions will help you reach more people.  Shows a benchmark of their performance over time.

  • HIDE, REPORT AS SPAM, AND UNLIKES

These actions will decrease the number of people you reach.  Shows a benchmark of their performance over time.

  • TOTAL REACH

This is the number of people who saw any activity from your page including posts, posts by other people, Page like ads, mentions, and checkins. Shows a benchmark of their performance over time.

Visits
  • DAILY DATA

This is an overview of 1M 1W 1Q with date range (you can change selection).

  • PAGE AND TAB VISITS

This is the number of times each of your Page tabs was viewed.  Shows a benchmark of timeline, photos tab, info tab, admin tabs, other over time.

  • OTHER PAGE ACTIVITY

This is the number of actions people took that involved your page.  Shows a benchmark of mentions, posts by other people on your page, check-ins, offers purchased over time.

  • EXTERNAL REFERRERS

This is the number of times people came to your page from a website off of Facebook.  Shows a benchmark of their performance over time.

  • WHEN YOUR FANS ARE ONLINE  | POST TYPES

Data shown for a recent 1-week period.  Times of day are shown in your computer’s local time zone.

Date range

Published post type targeting reach and engagement.

Reach and engagement are measured by different factors. You will see each consider the following factors. Reach is measured by organic/paid.  Engagement is measured by post clicks, or likes, comments, & shares

  • YOUR FANS

The people who like your page

Categorized by Women (Your Fans or All Facebook) and Men (Your Fans or All Facebook) and also results are separated into age categories (13-17, 18-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, 55-64, and 65+)

Then results show country, city, and language.

  • PEOPLE REACHED

The people who saw your posts in the last 28 days.

Categorized by Women (Your Fans or All Facebook) and Men (Your Fans or All Facebook) and also results are separated into age categories (13-17, 18-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, 55-64, and 65+)

Then results show country, city, and language.

  • PEOPLE ENGAGED

Demographic is only available when at least 30 people have engaged with your posts.

Categorized by Women (Your Fans or All Facebook) and Men (Your Fans or All Facebook) and also results are separated into age categories (13-17, 18-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, 55-64, and 65+)

Then results show country, city, and language.
