There are many ways to improve lead quality. You could adjust your targeting, tweak messaging to call out the right audience, add qualifying questions to your form, or try different sources of lead capture.

- What are SQLs and MQLs?

MQL, or marketing qualified lead, means a lead that your marketing has generated as a likely customer compared to other leads. This could be determined by the answers they give on a form, which page they converted on, which campaigns the lead came from, and more.

SQL, or sales qualified lead, is a lead with intent to purchase as determined by your sales team. This could mean they have all the information they need, the price point is right for them, they are ready to buy, or other criteria.

- What's a lead magnet and do I need one?

A lead magnet is an asset used to draw in leads, usually in exchange for their contact information. It could be a document, video, tool, or anything compelling enough to convince a potential lead to hand over their info. A lead magnet is typically used to engage with potential customers that are higher in the marketing funnel.

- Phone calls or form leads for lead generation?

It depends on how your business functions. Both can be effective and they can often be used together. It may be best to shy away from calls if, for example, you aren’t available to answer most inbound calls. On the flip side, in certain industries form leads can be unqualified or spam. Yes, it is recommended that you use a landing page for the most effective marketing campaigns. The length, content, conversion goals, images, and video should all be based on the type of lead you are trying to generate.
