The Key to Keywords

The Key to Keywords

Keywords make the world go around or at least the Worldwide Web world. Your website needs words that can guarantee future customers will be able to find your website. Here are a few ways to using keywords with your website.

Not Too Many

Search engines like it short and simple. The maximum amount of keywords really shouldn’t go over ten keywords per page. If a website has too many keywords for one page, search engines could consider this site as spam.

Relevant

If a website is for an insurance company then all of their keywords should relate to this company. Car insurance, home insurance, and flood insurance are a few examples for keywords that can be used.

Don’t Overdo It

If the website is titled Al’s Pizza Pad, then using Pizza Pad over and over as a keyword is spamming. By having different keywords, the website won’t look like a spam site. Also, with the variety of the keywords on a website then the higher the chances for more visitors to the page.

Research

This is more of a suggestion. Researching keywords is important with devices like Google Adwords which can help determine what keywords are searched everyday and how frequently. This ranks each word as low, medium, or high. The high frequency words are great, but have higher competition. The lower-ranked keywords aren’t as competitive, yet they are the ones that are either not searched often enough or they are very specific keywords, like manual typewriter.

In the world of SEO, keywords really can make a significant difference, and when used properly can help drive potential customers to your page.
